We all know that yoga asanas (poses) help improve bone density, strength, balance and flexibility. As we age, we can lose muscle mass and strength, and you may be wondering how you might add a little something to your practice to address those concerns. This workshop will begin by looking at the science behind healthy aging and introduce ways you can easily use hand weights to step up muscle mass, balance and stronger bones. Bring your mat and two water bottles, 1 to 3 pound hand weights, or use the provided soup cans to play with some fun and easy ways to challenge yourself and gain extra benefits from your practice.

With our bi-monthly book club series we’ll take a deep dive into your consciousness by using literature as a form of self-inquiry. We will meet to share thoughts on our chosen book and learn the benefits of reading for mindfulness. Afterwards you’ll be guided though a short, all levels yoga flow to ground down into the words and leave with an open mind to keep reading. Didn’t read the book? No worries!
